Company Description
Business Unit (BU) Vattenfall Power Solutions is a business unit of approximately 700 people within Business Area (BA) Vattenfall Generation that trains personnel in Swedish nuclear power, delivers nuclear fuel to Vattenfall's nuclear power plants, develops and implements projects and assignments, and provides internal technical specialist services for all of Vattenfall's operations, corporate staff and stakeholders. This involves activities such as the development and provision of training, project management and project support, analysis leadership and investigation, product development, nuclear safety and dust safety assignments. The focus within the Vattenfall Power Solutions business unit is to develop our capabilities in project management and selected technical key disciplines. We actively work with continuous improvement initiatives and the development of our models, where our work and expertise create significant value for Vattenfall and its investments.

We are looking for expertise in the following technical areas:
- Licensing and requirement interpretation
- Security protection
- Fire safety
- Radiological safety and radiation protection
- Electrical and I&C
- Construction
- Mechanics and process
About the Role
Nuclear power is a key component of Sweden's fossil-free energy system. Vattenfall is driving the development of new facilities while also undertaking extensive modernization and lifetime extension projects at our existing nuclear power plants. We also support the development of hydropower. As a Technical Specialist, you will play a central and strategically important role in complex projects related to both new facilities and modernization of existing ones. You are the organization’s deep technical expert and lead investigations, analyses, and reviews within your area.
Your Main Responsibilities
As a technical specialist, you will:
- Lead and coordinate advanced analyses and investigations within your technical area.
- Develop and ensure the quality of technical requirements, standards, and strategies.
- Support projects in design reviews and technical verification.
- Initiate and drive the development of working methods, methods, and common industry standards.
- Disseminate knowledge, act as a mentor, and contribute to competence and development networks.
Requirements
- Academic degree at the master's level or equivalent competence acquired through relevant work experience.
- Several years of experience as a technical specialist in your technical area.
- Very good analytical skills and accustomed to handling complex technical issues.
- Very good Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Experience from nuclear technology operations is an advantage.
